Rivers are a natural source of life- they provide water, food a means of transport, have been used as a defensive measure, are the source of hydropower, and unfortunately as a means of disposing waste.
All of this means that we cannot survive without water, but over time the effects of over usgae and developement can mean that these rivers end up polluted and useless.
Thus lies the importance of ensuring that we maintain and conserve our rivers for future generations.
