Social media played an integral role in the Opposition denying Barisan Nasional its two-third majority in the March 2008 General Elections. Since then, UMNO Youth established its New Media Unit, headed by UMNO Youth exco member Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, to strengthen the party's presence in the online media as well as countering negative perception towards BN. Will UMNO Youth's New Media Unit help boost Barisan Nasional's performance in the 13th General Elections, or does Pakatan Rakyat still hold the online advantage?
