Yesterday, a multi-term Parliamentarian and stalwart of the Democratic Action Party was killed in a car accident. Karpal Singh was a towering figure in our political landscape and earned the moniker Tiger of Jelutong. He did so for his style of public oratory as well as his tenacious defence of what he believed to be democratic values. He was an inspiration to many but had detractors too. In time assessments of his political legacy will emerged and no doubt be hotly debated. But today we listen to Karpal on a more personal note, speaking on CNN’s Talk Asia.
