KTMB – Railroading Workers?

Several KTMB union members have been sacked and suspended for participating in a picket earlier this year. Some 700 workers were calling for infrastructure reforms. This follows the recent losses of KTMB Sdn Bhd amounting to RM280 million. The Union also expressed concern about the effects of the expected privatisation of the railways. We explore the issue of workers rights and laws governing trade unions.
