Malaysia and many other countries still approach drug addiction from a criminal justice perspective, where punishment is used as a deterrent. But many experts including Dr. Adeeba have said that this approach has failed and that it's time we consider the model that Portugal uses. Drugs were decriminalised back in 2001 and they used a more health-centred approach to address drug addiction. Dr. Adeeba joins us to talk about Portugal's methods and whether it would work in Malaysia.
