Can Singapore Survive the Next 50 Years?

Singapore’s trade-driven economy shrank by more than more expected in the second-quarter. It shows just how exposed the island is to global fluctuations. So as it prepares to celebrate 50 years of independence, we ask Kishore Mahbubani about the threats it faces, some of which he claims are existential. He’s Dean and Professor in the Practice of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, and was a former diplomat. His latest book is called “Can Singapore Survive?”
