Professor Danny Quah is co-Director of London School of Economics Global Governance and council member on Malaysia's National Economic Advisory Council (NEAC). The NEAC is tasked with putting together the New Economic Model report.
He talks about the New Economic Model, what it would take for the nation to fulfill the model and whether there's the political will to implement reform. He likens Malaysia's economy to an F1 car with the brakes on and talks about what the brakes are. He also discusses the changes in affirmative action needed for it to work better.
A Penangite based in London, he closes by telling us what it would take for him to relocate to Malaysia. Interview done by Khoo Hsien Chun, BFM correspondent.
