From the moment we’re born, we’re judged, praised and rewarded for what we know. And so much emphasis is placed on not just acquiring knowledge, but also on our ability to appear knowledgeable, in being able to relay that knowledge back to others. But as they say with food and exercise, you should take everything in moderation- and perhaps the same principle could be applied to knowledge. Because as Diana Renner explores in the book she co-authored called Not Knowing, we live in a world of uncertainty, complexity and volatility. And to survive and thrive, we might have to get comfortable with the notion of not knowing.
