A recent World Bank report ranked Malaysia's quality of education below average, citing that "Vietnamese students in rural areas actually perform better than Malaysian students". The Ministry of Education's latest effort in education reform is the Malaysia Education Blueprint. It seeks to fix the systemic problems. But will these reforms be effective? We speak to those in the education sector, get a sense of teacher resistance to reform and finally get an introduction to trust schools, projected as the future of the country's education system.
