Jim Mather is a Scottish Chartered Accountant, who worked in accountancy and then for IBM, in Sales & Marketing, before establishing the successful ComputerLand franchise in Scotland in the 1980s. In 2003, he was elected as a member of the Scottish Parliament and then served as Minister for Enterprise, Energy & Tourism in the SNP Administration of 2007–2011. He retired from front-line politics in 2011 and is now a visiting professor at Strathclyde University, Chairman of Gael Limited and fulfills other related consultancy & non-executive roles.
