In early April, the Malaysian Parliament passed a series of amendments to the national Child Act. The Child Bill 2015 was first tabled in Parliament last year, and incorporates a number of suggestions that will hopefully bring Malaysia in line with international standards on children’s rights. Malaysia ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1995.
