A situation familiar to many Malaysians, a runner is a paid middleman who manages vehicle paperwork and bypasses the queue by going straight to specific counters where officers readily accept their documents. This slows the regular queue and raises concerns about fairness and integrity, leaving many people in line feeling frustrated but unable to object. This prompts questions about whether runners are a practical response to inefficiency or an unethical shortcut, and whether JPJ should regulate the practice or create dedicated counters to prevent queue-cutting.
