With news this week that at least one child has died from hand, foot and mouth disease, we have gone from worried to alarmed. A number of other infectious childhood diseases are also on the rise, including measles, influenza and even Japanese encephalitis in Sarawak, although dengue cases have declined. There’s also been a rise in global tuberculosis cases.
