Every year, Malaysia Day is marked on the 16th of September to commemorate the union of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak and Singapore. Still, every year on the 16th of September, the now Sabah and Sarawak are feted as being part of the family, with indigenous culture spotlighted as part of Malaysian heritage.
