If you say “yes” fast, and offer to do that extra shift whilst staying late on that new project you volunteered to help out on, chances are that someone in the office might see you as a bit of a ‘People-Pleaser’ - or at least, some variation of that term. But should it be considered a negative term? Shouldn’t it be ok to just want to help people? Afterall, isn’t that what we’re constantly telling one another to do?
