After years of anticipation and months of delays thanks to the pandemic, ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ is finally being released simultaneously in cinemas and on HBO Max on Christmas day. While Warner Bros has no plans to release the film on streaming in international markets, the unprecedented move signals Hollywood’s official ‘new normal’. Streaming is now the leading entertainment medium, and Wonder Woman 1984 could permanently change the way cinemas operate moving forward.
