Proud to be POYO

‘Poyo” is a Malay slang word used by youth to mock their peers who attempt to speak English. Loosely translated, it could mean arrogance from showing off, or an attempt at standing out. Vernon Adrian Emuang from Academy of Creative Transformation speaks to us about how he turned the word Poyo into a war cry to encourage self-confidence, improve youth’s employability and even to overcome failure.
