New guidelines on hiring domestic workers have been introduced, following the signing of the MoU between Indonesia and Malaysia, one of which is that Indonesian domestic workers will reportedly be paid no less than RM1500 in wages, among others. We look into what this means for them, and also more broadly, how to move away from Malaysia’s reliance on foreign domestic help.
