Around a quarter of the total Malaysian population are non-citizens that live in Malaysia. There's another group of people often not talked about - the children of these non-Malaysians, the migrant children - who often exist in limbo in between nationalities and their parents' identities in Malaysia. Some children make frequent trips back and forth to their parents' countries just to get basic rights like education and healthcare, others have to deal with the "pendatang" stigma although they were born in Malaysia, while others, decide to work hard in schools to prove that labels don't mean anything. This week and next week, Rahmah Pauzi speaks to 2 teens who were born to non-Malaysians, grew up in this country, and what does it mean to be in this limbo.
