The Federal Court ruled recently that former Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng was entitled to sue Perkasa for defamation, over remarks about an official trip that he made to Singapore. But is it right for public officials to file defamation suits? Ding Jo-Ann and New Sin Yew think that it's not, in an op-ed on Malaysiakini. We speak with them to find out more.
