The Southeast Asian Arts Censorship Database

ArtsEquator, a online platform that champions Southeast Asian arts and culture, has been carrying out a wide-ranging study on arts censorship called the Southeast Asian Arts Censorship Database. The project includes researchers from six countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. We discuss what the project aims to do, and what it tell us about arts censorship in the region, with Kathy Rowland, co-founder of ArtsEquator as well as Zikri Rahman, the Malaysian researcher for the project.
