Without corroborating evidence the prosecution of Anwar Ibrahim hangs on the DNA sample to prove allegations of sodomy. The High Court acquitted Anwar when it ruled that the DNA evidence lacked integrity while the Court of Appeal overturned the acquittal by dismissing argument against the DNA sample. Now Malaysians wait with bated breath for the final verdict on Anwar’s Ibrahim’s sodomy appeal. Professor Nijar walks us through the court process and various points of contention at the center of this process. We also explore the possible outcomes from this process including the question of sentencing if Anwar is convicted.
