Charles Kenny, the author of "The Plague Cycle: The Unending War Between Humanity and Infectious Disease" discusses the downside of some measures to fight the pandemic, and how global rules like patents and aid-giving could be rewritten to foster more equitable development and a more even response in managing crisis across the world. Kenny is also a Senior Fellow and the Director of Technology and Development at the Center for Global Development, Washington DC. He was previously with the World Bank, and holds degrees from Cambridge; the School of Oriental and African Studies in London; and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
