Several hotel groups have proposed to charge foreign visitors in US dollars, in a move to boost profits for local hotel operators. Citing dual-currency pricing practices in countries like Indonesia and Cambodia, the associations are calling for industry players to support this proposal to benefit the sector. We will be speaking to Shaharuddin Said, Executive Director of Malaysian Association of Hotel Owners (MAHO) to understand the rationale behind this idea.
