In some circles, YBhg Dato’ Dr Ng Kah-Ming, a harpsichordist-musicologist and conductor doesn’t need any introduction. Internationally he is best known as the director of Charivari Agreable, an award-winning ensemble. He has collaborated with over 60 choirs and recorded 22 CDs. He is here for two reasons: to help us better understand early (Western) music and at the same time explain how (early or contemporary) music can be a model, or a metaphor for us to think about harmony and nation building.
