A large meta-analysis, published in the journal Nicotine & Tobacco Research, found that a majority of people who experimented with smoking went on to become daily smokers. Dr Nizam Baharom, lecturer in public health from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, breaks down the results and provides the Malaysian context.
