 | With the skin made transparent, the main structure of interest are muscles that arise from the leg and move the foot as well as the ankle. Associated with these are a series of small joints on which the tendons with their associated sheaths rest. |

 | The shared structure passing from leg into foot crossing the ankle is often confusing as to the location of the pain. Common soft tissue causes include diagnoses such as Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome, Tibialis posterior Tendinitis, Saesemoiditis. |

 | The many interlinking bones that form the arches of the foot can also cause pain primarily, or be the source of secondary irritation of the above mentioned structures. |
