Stem Cell Transplant ‘Cures’ People with HIV

This month, we read about two people who had reportedly become HIV-free after undergoing stem cell transplants. This makes three people – including the ‘Berlin patient’ – who are now HIV-free following this same procedure. This has gotten people excited about the possibility of a HIV cure. But what is involved in this transplant procedure and what are the risks involved?
