The theme for this year’s World Mental Health Day is psychological first aid. According to the Health Ministry, by 2020, one in 10 Malaysians will be affected by mental problems. It is expected to be the second highest form of health problem affecting Malaysians after heart disease. Consultant Psychiatrist (Community & Rehabilitation Psychiatry) from the Ministry of Health, Dr Nor Hayati Ali is here to explain how mental health literacy can change that forecast.
