17 years ago, on the 19th of March, Kam Agong died unnecessarily from a botched c-section. Since her death, her family have fought to raise awareness of the difficulties women in Sarawak face in accessing maternal healthcare. Agnes Pandan, Kam Agong’s daughter, journeyed back to her village in Sarawak to find out what really happened to her mother. We revisit an interview with Lawrence Jayaraj, Agnes’s husband, who filmed Agnes’s journey.
