The recent big flood which mobilised more than 100,000 people in relief work has provided many lessons to learn in how to effectively utilise human resource. The well-meaning public have mostly acted on their own accord, within their own organisations or as individuals, in the race to help the flood victims. However, if there had been a more effective leadership more could have been done with less duplication of work.
