Terengganu has passed four new Syariah law amendments, involving witchcraft, out-of-wedlock pregnancy, sodomy and gender expressions. These amendments have been panned by various human rights groups, who cited harmful effects it would have on women, young people and minority groups. We spoke to a Syariah lawyer on this.
