A new policy was recently announced that returning Umrah pilgrims are required quarantine at a designated facility. This came after news that a large number of Umrah travellers had tested positive for the Omicron Covid-19 variant, and had not followed proper quarantine SOPs. This has led to public outrage about the high hotel quarantine costs they've had to bear. We look into this.
