Based on the Budget 2016 announcement, GST and subsidies made up for the expected shortfall in government revenue due to the decrease in petroleum revenue contribution this year. This means, the rakyat did their part to pay for next year's budget. With the government's operating expenditure set to exceed 215 billion ringgit, the question now is, did Putrajaya do its part to tighten its belt?
