Hear and Now.. in Malaysia Season 3, Ep 7: Made in Malaysia?

The iPod could be considered an innovation because it brought together several existing inventions and put them into one must-have device, and now the iPad is designed in California and made in China. But what about designed and made in Malaysia? Can the specific needs and landscape of Malaysia give inspiration for innovative ideas with global applications? Can we be innovative in Malaysia, or do we have to pretend that we’re in California?

Kam Raslan searches for the answers as he meets a few people creating innovative products. He meets Robest Yong, an innovation ambassador at Agensi Innovasi Malaysia, Captain Associate Professor Syed Nasir Alsagoff of the National Defense University of Malaysia, and Dain Said and Nandita Solomon director and producer of production company Apparat.

Produced by Handy Jobs (Hear & Now in Malaysia) in collaboration with the Economic Transformation Programme (Hear & Now in Malaysia on ETP) and brought to you by BFM.
