Stadium Merdeka have played host to many events, including selling-out to full capacity when Michael Jackson made his way to our shores in 1996. But of course, the site would always be remembered for that day in August 1957, where the new Malaya was born. We take a look-back at arguably our nation’s most significant national monument by exploring its birth, developments to the stadium, as well as the restoration to it’s former glory throughout the years.
