Before he became President of the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, Professor Sibrandes Poppema studied medicine in the same university, specialising in Pathology, and completed his PhD on the Immunopathology of Hodgkin's disease. He now holds six patents on CD45 and Galectin-1, and has a type of lymphoma named after him in France. He takes us through his illustrious career, and shares what he thinks of the future of pathology.
