Face masks have become part of our daily life as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, but while they help limit the transmission of COVID-19, the disposable plastic masks are having a devastating effect on the planet. Researchers believe these disposable masks could cause an environmental disaster that might last generations. We discuss the environmental footprint of what many are calling the symbol of the COVID-19 pandemic - face masks.
