"I am totally convinced, Mr. Premier, that differences in ideology, in our relative size, and in our approaches to some international issues, should not present obstacles to the development of fruitful relations and cooperation between our two countries" said Tun Razak to Premier Choi En-lai in his diplomatic mission to China in 1974. In commemoration to the fortieth anniversary of the visit, Prime Minister Najib Razak replicates his father's journey in bringing this relationship further. We talk to members of the original delegation to get a character of the mission and the ideological reality of China-Malaysia relations in the 70s.
