美国五角大厦上周披露，一枚中国侦察气球闯入美国领空，并在5日被美军击落。美国国防部发言人赖德（Pat Ryder）随后就在7日指出，上周六时五角大厦提出要与中国国防部长魏凤和通话，但却遭到拒绝。赖德表示，美方会继续致力于开放沟通渠道，并强调重要的是美中双方保持畅通的沟通管道，以负责任地管理双方关系。一颗气球使美中关系再次降到冰点，让人感受到美中之间的关系是有多么脆弱。
