Here in Malaysia, we're very familiar with the Rohingya refugee crisis that exploded in 2015. Thousands of Rohingya people fled to neighbouring countries to escape persecution. There is yet to be a solution to the crisis and the delay in one has created a new problem...forced marriages and child brides. Mahi Ramakrishnan's new film, Bou, reveals the trafficking of Rohingya girls from Myanmar to become child brides here for local Rohingya men. Joining her is Hafsar, a Rohingya activist who works very closely with the community here.
