In a Facebook post early last week, the Kuantan Municipal council reminded local businesses that putting up the flag for National Day is among the conditions for the premise license issued by the council, and failing to do so would result in fines. So we look at the origins of national flags and the significance of flying the Jalur Gemilang here in Malaysia.
