Migrant Series #Ep5 - Laws Bite Back

Over the next few weeks of this special series on migrant labour, we will be exploring the topic from the perspective of policy and economics; taking you through the forgotten history of a landmark court case, and delving into the specific challenges faced by domestic workers. This week we speak to NGO workers about how contradicting policies, overlapping agency jurisdictions, and loopholes in the law mean that despite rights being codified in international and domestic law, in reality these often merely a ‘rights “illusion’.
