Malaysian Indians have raised concerns over the use of a racial slur against Indians in a Bahasa Malaysia dictionary. We look at Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka’s response, the need for cultural inclusivity, and the role that the institution plays in ensuring that language evolves to reflect the times.
