The Institute for Public Health's National Health and Morbidity Survey 2022 has found that 7.6% of adolescents in Malaysia have engaged in sexual activities. From this number, 33% of teenagers engage in sexual activities before the age of 14, and 88% don't use any form of contraception. We use these findings as a springboard for a discussion on the role of sex education when it comes to teaching young people healthy attitudes around sex.
