The Haze is Back

According to the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) the haze from Indonesian fires is expected to stay due to the southwest monsoon winds.Their latest monitoring showed that there is still a slight haze in the peninsula and west Sarawak following an increase in hotspots in Riau, Southern Sumatra and Kalimantan.

For a deeper insight on this issue we speak to Dr Helena Varkkey, Department of International and Strategic Studies, Universiti Malaya, who is also the author of the book "Transboundary Haze in Southeast Asia: Palm Oil and Patronage".
