The magic also continued at the Tyne-Wear derby where a hopeful Sunderland was humbled 3-0 by Newcastle United, while ruthless Chelsea put four past two-time winners Preston North End. Spurs on the other hand lacked the bite but progress thanks to a thunderous strike by Pedro Porro while Manchester City welcomed Kevin De Bruyne back as he inspired the Cityzens to a five-nil win over Huddersfield Town.
