Melissa Th'ng

Tonight in our studios, we’ve have the lady who was shot into TV fame by representing Malaysian on the premiere cycle season one of Asia’s Next Top Model, Melissa Th’ng!

It all started with a casual joke between Melissa and her friend, Bella, about joining in the auditions for the first Asia’s Next Top Model premiere season. From one thing to another, an interview in Singapore and multiple episodes later, Melissa gained fans as she reached to the Top 7, bringing many Malaysians proud of this Sabah born-Ipoh bred woman.

Melissa advocated strongly for positive body image as she wants to push the boundaries of what conventional beauty is for many young girls all over. Growing up thinking she was ugly, Melissa is now comfortable with herself as her confidence is a sign of a strong woman that she is.

Speaking of strong, Melissa is also a qualified tennis coach! Starting at the age of 15, Melissa turned to tennis after trying to become a professional swimmer didn’t work out. After training by her parents everyday till midnight, Melissa managed to secure a spot in the state team after a year of playing. She went all over to represent the states of Perak and Selangor, with also entering the SUKMA games twice.

Today, you can still find Melissa at the tennis court, keeping tennis serve sharp. She’s a fresh graduate in Marketing Communications in 2015, has a strong passion for emcee and hosting work where she aims one day to be the face of an E! News or MTV show one day.

For the record, Melissa scored 12!
